Rob Zandvliet's 57 Chev featuring Jacinta Rockich

There’s an awesome little 5 page car feature in this months issue of Perth Street Car Magazine. It’s none other than Rob Zandvliet’s 1957 Chev! This car impressed the crowds at Motorvation earlier this year and picked up a few awards too. It was a great car to shoot and we had a lot of fun on the day. Thank for coming out Rob, and also Janelle and the kids it was great to meet you.

We were also very lucky to have international model Jacinta Rokich floating around town and have the time to come out on set with us for the day and shoot the feature. I think you will thoroughly enjoy this feature so get out to the newsagent and get your copy!

Videographer Ross Metcalf was with us once again to film the Behind The Scenes action and he did a great job as always. No more blabber from me, here is the result below! Watch it in 720p!!!

Boom Magazine Issue 4 Front Cover

So here’s another front cover to the trophy room. I’ve been shooting a long time and I’ve been published a fair bit, but front covers are still a very exciting moment for me and something I’m always very proud of.

Frasers Motorcycles contacted me recently with a very exciting project they wanted me to be involved in. In collaboration with BOOM Magazine they were giving away a Harley Davidson Iron 883 motorcycle and they wanted me to photograph it for the front cover! So as Barney would say… “Challenge Accepted!”

The image above is obviously the front cover in question featuring the photo I took. For those who are yet to hear about BOOM Magazine, well…

BOOM Magazine is a new and exciting publication aimed at resource workers employed within the BOOMING Australian Resource Industry. Their mission is to create the best light hearted entertainment magazine available to all resource workers across Australia. The magazine mixes plenty of content such as interviews with international and national heroes as well as motor reviews, new fashions and investment tips. There is pretty much something for everyone.

The best part about this magazine is it’s FREE! Actually, even better than that, you can read the full magazine ONLINE! So click the link below and go find out more about the magazine!

Johnny Ruffo Launches Official Website

You may have thought Johnny Ruffo would be forgotten after X-Factor finished but let me tell you that couldn’t be further from the truth. Johnny just finished a sold out tour with Reece Mastin and is working hard on an album which we will all see released soon I’m sure.

Now for the exciting news, my photography and film work has gone into the brand new official Johnny Ruffo website which you can see here: http://www.johnnyruffoofficial.com/

You will notice the main image is one of the photos I took of Johnny late last year (behind the scenes can be seen here).

The youtube video embedded in the webpage is the result of my filming work when they visited Perth on their Australian tour. I had two other shooters helping cover the angles and I spent most of my time on stage with Johnny using my Steadicam rig and a 5DMKII.

You can see the video here:

It was so exciting to be working on stage with my friends. Not only Johnny, but dancers Axel and Adel, and illusionist Adam & Selina Murby who made a guest appearance at the beginning. It was such an exciting two days. I’m so proud to see their success becoming a reality.

1977 Toyota Celica GT4 3SGTE

This 1977 Toyota Celica GT4 is deserving of so much respect no matter what your preference of car. Neil has spent more than half a dozen years building this car and there hasn’t been a single part of the car untouched.  I don’t just mean the flashy paint job, the Work wheels and a nice engine swap to a Toyota 3SGTE, it’s all the little things and the attention to detail that really add up to complete the car.

Fast Fours Magazine January 2012

It’s hard to find cars still being built like this these days.

Last time I checked with Neil this was pushing out 340hp at the wheels which is a very decent amount of horsies at your mercy.

Anyway you can read all about Neils’ car in the latest edition of Fast Fours Magazine. I had the pleasure of shooting this car late last year and now my efforts are published and on the news stands for you to enjoy. It’s in the January 2012 edition and I think you’ll find its a good month to buy because there are two back issues included! Pretty sweet deal.

To the left is what the cover looks like!

Now i’ll leave you with a few behind the scenes photos from the shoot.

A Tribute to Tom Walkinshaw Racing The October edition of Perth Street Car magazine hit the shelves last week (Volume 19 Number 2) and this time round I was lucky enough to take part in playing a little tribute to Tom Walkinshaw with the help of Brett Stewart from Formula Tech and his rediculously well built Walkinshaw.

Brett put a lot of effort into the car and I think its something Walkinshaw enthusiasts will really appreciate!

Check out the magazine for the full feature accompanied by Christie-Anne who adds a bit of spice for us!  To see what else is in th emagazine jump on over to the Perth Street Car Website and look at their latest issue page.

For now, here are some teaser behind the scenes pics for you to have a look at…

Here’s a good tip for you assistants out there… Don’t look at the flash! Ever! Here’s my assistant Jay below getting flashed by yours truly. I was a bit mean on this one.

Johnny Ruffo X FactorWell it seems someone over at The West Australian Newspaper has some sticky fingers having pinched one of my photos of X Factor contestant Johnny Ruffo and ran it in their friday newspaper(Aug 26th).  It’s not the first time I’ve seen them do this and no doubt it wont be the last. It’s a shame they don’t respect what isn’t theirs and don’t seem to have any ethics. But enough about that, this post is about Perth success Johnny Ruffo!

The photo of Johnny was put side by side with Ronan Keating in an article talking about the brand new series of X Factor hitting our screens on Monday 29th August at 7:30pm on Channel 7. They gave Johnny, a friend of mine and concreter from Balcatta a worthy mention in the article also, which would obviously explain the photo.

If you didn’t already know, Johnny is a 23 year old Pop / R&B artist who is not just a singer, but an entertainer. Johnny has written a lot of his own songs to which I have had the pleasure of hearing and he can bust out a few dance moves too. I can’t wait to hear him belt out a tune on X Factor for the whole country to see.

Check out this sneak peek video of Johnny Ruffo on the show straight from the X Factor website:

Now The West Australian weren’t able to do Johnnys photo justice, so here’s a larger version of the man for you to see straight from the source!

BLOONESS Holden Ute featured in Perth Street Car

If you haven’t already seen the Behind The Scenes video for this photoshoot, then I really think you need to check it out because it’s the best one we’ve done so far in my opinion. Big thanks to Liam Underwood for taking the reigns of the camera for this one. As per usual I was stuck in front of the screen editing it all together. It takes a lot of work to put these together so please leave me some comments if you like it.

Anyway, since you have all gone out and purchased a copy of the latest Perth Street Car Magazine (right?)  you would all know the lovely Miss Motorvation Gemma Louise was featured alongside Tim Smith’s insane BLOONESS Ute in the issue.  Now you’ve seen the video,  its time to see some more photos! You may have seen a couple of sneak peaks if you follow me on twitter or facebook, but check out all I have to offer below. Let’s start off with some extracts from the magazine itself.
